While this is probably out of the geographical range of many of you, for some of your congregations closer to Southwestern PA it might be of interest.
Our Disciplemaking/Spiritual Growth Ministry Team in Pittsburgh has identified a need for many of our congregations – they cannot afford to send staff (if they even have staff!) or volunteers to training events to better equip them to for work in the area of Children’s and Youth Ministry. That sparked a conversation amongst our group as to whether we could pull off a small-scale training event ourselves. We piloted a project like this a year ago with good success, so we though the answer might be yes. We know it won’t be amazing, but as one of our ministry team members said “We certainly can pull off better than average”.
As such, the Better Than AverageTraining Event was born. On February 28th we’re going to host a small-scale training and fellowship event for those interested in Children’s and Youth Ministry. We’ve got a keynote speaker, five workshops, and dinner on site.
